Alex LeVasseur had a passion for skateboarding. There was nothing he loved more than learning and perfecting a new trick. Alex was a friend to everyone he met. He gave his all to everything he did and lived his life to the fullest. We hope this scholarship program will help to pass on this great gift Alex had. This is not only about a love for skating, but a love for life as well. Be a friend to everyone, and make the most of each moment.

This Scholarship program is set up to help local Nashville teens get and stay motivated in life through skating. A select number of local students will be chosen to participate based on the need for grade or behavioral improvement in the classroom. These students will be given skate gear and a schedule to follow at 6th Ave Skate Park. If they achieve their grade and behavioral goals they will get to keep their skate gear, continue their skate sessions, and get to attend skate camp in the summer. Our goal is to give these kids motivation to do better in the classroom and in life through skating.

We have begun our 3rd year with this program.  We have 13 students that were chosen to participate this year, which includes 9 students from the first two years! We are excited to have so many students back for another year, and we are very proud of their growth over the past two years as well as the progress we have seen from the new students.

If you have a student or a loved one that you feel would benefit from this program, please send a written request outlining the situation in school, what school they attend, and a written statement from the young adult.
